Common questions

When can I download Commuteur?

Commuteur is coming to iPhone first. Join the waitlist and we'll email you the download link on launch day.

Where does Commuteur work?

At launch: New Jersey and New York City, covering NJ TRANSIT rail, light rail and bus, the NYC Subway, MTA buses in all five boroughs, the LIRR and Metro-North, plus rideshare, Citi Bike, walking and rental cars. See NYC and New Jersey for details.

Why does the app need my location?

To show where you are on the map and find the stops and options closest to you. Commuteur only uses your location while the app is open. You can change this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Commuteur.

Why doesn't my subway train show an exact position?

Subway trains underground don't report GPS. Commuteur places them at the last station they reported, so the dot moves station to station rather than smoothly.

Are the prices exact?

Transit fares come from published fare tables and rideshare prices are live estimates. What you're finally charged is set by the provider and can differ, especially for rideshare during busy times.

How do Green Points work?

You earn 30 points for each transit leg of a completed trip. Redeem them for rewards in the Wallet tab. Points have no cash value.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account. This removes your account and its data. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
